actually, pause. because putting the emotional stuff about tatinof aside, what the video actually made me realize how fucking insane it was as a theatrical production. i hadn't seen any part of the show since 2016, and being older and having been involved in theater stuff in college recently, i'm only just realizing what a technical nightmare that show must have been. the stage manager was probably only a half hour into the show calling light cue 102 and sound cue 60 already. having to switch off control to an asm when donning dil. the fucking props. so many costume changes. and this isn't even mentioning the set.

like yes dan is a theater kid at heart but he had never seriously studied it and they were both so young to be doing a show so ambitious. they joked about losing money after the uk leg (which i honestly did not expect), but to be honest the amount of money that tech must have required was probably wayy beyond what they thought it would be. i'm actually in awe that they did another tour after that being their first tour/stage show experience.
